Some weaknesses include an unspecified key management, key size (40 bits), small IV (initialization vector), inappropriate ICV (integrity check value) algorithm etc. A wired equivalent privacy protection has multiple weaknesses that can be targeted by an attacker. While it is better than using no encryption, wired equivalent privacy is the easiest to break into.
